Disposable
I started making portraits out of found objects in 1999. The artwork below is made out of junk, found objects, disposable goods, and general trash. It is part ready-made part gestalt theory. I consider the junk to be ready-made parts because I don't manipulate the pieces once collected. I use as is. But it takes the combination of several pieces of junk to create any meaning. One fragment, like a bottle top, means nothing until objects are placed around it for relevance. Everything is glued to a wooden canvas allowing me to incorporate the physical objects into the communication of the artwork.

Speed of Light
In the 2007 series Speed of Light, I wanted to put forth visual possibilities that dealt with Einstein's theory of general relativity. In that unifying theory, Einstein was able to define the relationships of space, time, energy, and matter. This had the most impact on our understanding of gravity and also revealed unusual phenomenon like warped space-time and black holes.

Illuminated Space
These are works of art I produced mostly in 2005 and 2006. They represent images that are usually seen by transmitted light as opposed to reflected light, which was simply an acknowledgement of the medium. They are also images that represent fractured spaces, gaps in time, and disconnected relationships. By generating empty or 'off' space, these particular images provide me a starting point to consider what exists in-between points of study, or to consider what exists along a staircase of blocks or pixels and how presentation can change that related space.

Avatar
One of my early series involving the use of light as a medium was Avatar. The most popular icon that gives a computer user reference is the cursor. This symbol gives you a relative location in a totally inorganic universe that is propagated only by the unemotional ones and zeroes of binary code. The cursor represented here is actually an enlarged view of the one developed by Apple Computers. I also find beauty in the pixilated design of this important and often overlooked icon of our generation.
